French serpentine chest of drawers

This is a charming little french chest which dates to the end of the 19th century. It is quite compact in size so is ideal for a room with limited space. The chest is made of mixed woods and is fairly heavy and solid despite its compact size. The front is serpentine and the chest is set on curved cabriole style legs, there are two drawers to the front which are finished with later porcelain knobs. The chest has a painted shabby chic finish, the paint is a pale grey colour. The paintwork is heavily distressed and has a smooth, waxed finish. Condition. The chest is in solid structural condition with many cosmetic marks of age and use. There are various areas of damage to the veneer and a few small air bubbles where the veneer has lifted in places. The back left hand leg has been fixed at some point in time. It is rather rustic and well aged looking. Measurements. Height- 82cms. Width- 82cms at the back, 55cms at the front. Depth- 34cms. The measurements are taken at the widest points.
