Glass Carafe Mdina Ming Series - Signed Michael Harris Malta 1970

Superb carafe (or studio perfume bottle) from the 1970s, part of the famous "Ming" series, designed by the great glass master Michael Harris during his golden period at the Mdina Glass factory in Malta. This sculptural piece, mouth-blown, is distinguished by its fluid and layered swirls of cobalt blue and intense turquoise glass. The organic movement of the colours evokes marine landscapes, enhanced by a thick transparent glass neck topped with its original spherical bubble-shaped stopper. The polished pontil base is engraved with the authentic signature "Mdina". It is an iconic example of the modernist art glass movement of the 70s, perfect for adding a touch of textured light to a Scandinavian sideboard, a lounge bar, or a collector's shelf.
