The "skoczek" or "ski-jumper" chair was created in 1965 by a young polish designer juliusz kędziorek for the gostyń furniture works (gościńska fabryk mebli) but- after a spectacular success of this project- produced on a mass scale by zamość furniture factory (zamojskie fabryki mebli). Kędziorek was inspired by popular sports discipline in the polish people’s republic (prl) era – ski jumping. The semi-circular shape of the armrests refers to the slope of a ski jump. The name "skoczek" was given to honor achievements of polish athletes. This chairs were subject of complete renovation. Frames made of wood have been cleaned of the old varnish coat, stained in brown color and protected with several layers of semi-matt varnish. Upholstery on the backrests and on the seats were replaced with classy grey fabric.
