Religious statuette in painted wood

Beautiful statuette in carved and hand-painted wood, perhaps representing saint augustine, as the latter was often depicted with a beard and holding a book. The colors, once removed the dust accumulated for years, are still vivid. The sculpture, although in a very brutalist style, has beautiful details, the face in particular, and the folds of the clothes too, whose reliefs are accentuated by dark colors. The general shape is also interesting, very stretched, very high. This room will not go unnoticed in your interior! It is in good general condition, neither crack nor shine, just three or four small gaps on the paint and the velvet stuck under the base is very worn. I will not be able to date this sculpture precisely, but the wear of the velvet underneath indicates that it must not be recent, 70s perhaps, or before. This stature measures 35 cm in height, 7 cm in width, 5.5 cm in depth and weighs about 450.
