A subtle mix of reds, violets and blues, with a undulating effect in the style of a zen garden. It was believed by johann van loon, who used the kabbalistic notion of the hebrew letter aleph meaning "without end". The vase changed in 1985. The vase is in very good condition. Johan gerard van loon (rotterdam, october 29, 1934 - breda, february 24, 2020) was a dutch ceramist and text artist. Van loon annex textile design at the gerrit rietveld academie from 1952 to 1956 and from 1957 to 1960 at konstfack in stockholm under the direction of stig lindberg. In 1958 he took pottery lessons from the amsterdam potter jos eppens van veen, in 1960 from thera hofstede crull, in 1961 at camberwell college of arts in london under the direction of lucie rie. In 1963-64 with the ceramics designer stig lindberg in stockholm, where he constructed wall ceramics. After returning to poland, he set up his own studio in hengelo in 1966. He designed extracted ceramic sculptures that were used by the royal copenhagen pottery factory in copenhagen. In 1966, he also began creating textile design and ceramics at several dutch art academies. From 1977 to 1986 he taught at akv st. Joost, and in the late 1980s he founded the ceramics department at artez art & design in enschede. From 1994 he also lectured in germany.
