Lithography engraving vintage monkeys - 1850

It is a superb english engraving dating from about 1850. This is two monkeys including the howler monkey. Engraving in particular style: background decoration illustrated in black and the 2 colorful animals (rare). The result is a beautiful contrast. Original very well preserved. The beautiful illustrated subjects of these period editions are becoming rare now. Chic in the finesse of the engraving strokes. The back of the engraving is white, there remains a page of text in english attached to it. The colors are original, engraving enhanced at the time. We must be aware that this document has gone through at least 170 years; yet it is intact. Very beautiful once framed. 16.5cm X 26cm.
