Ceramic teapots with bamboo handles by Elisabeth Wallet

Teapot made of hand-turned stoneware by Elisabeth Wallet, a French potter based in Cluny (Burgundy), active in the 1960s-1970s. Signed “E. Wallet” under the base. Wood-fired with iron glaze — natural effects of ash, orange tones, deep browns, blue-grey, and blacks. Unusual square shape, bent bamboo handle secured with braided fibre. Unique piece. Slight crack on the bamboo handle, hidden under the fibre knot — does not affect usability. Interior stained from tea use. Very good overall condition.
