A Napoleon III style solid silver tea service covered in gold (vermeil), dating from the second half of the 19th century. In its original box bearing the mark of Ernest Mabon, 26 rue Thiers, Bayonne. Complete, it comprises 15 pieces: 1 tea scoop, 1 sugar tongs, 1 tea strainer, and 12 spoons. Each piece is decorated with a monogrammed cartouche: IL. Hallmarks: Minerva 1st standard (silver guarantee), maker's marks. Not marked on the tea scoop. Spoon length: 13.8 cm. Sugar tongs length: 14.5 cm. Box dimensions: 29 X 28 X 4.5 cm. Total weight of pieces: 260 g. Total weight with box: 887 g. Very good condition with slight signs of wear.
