Vintage Italian sculpture representing Our Lady of Loreto and the Child, created by G. Ruggeri for the Tito Bianchi workshops in Tuscany around the 1970s-1980s. This piece features remarkable ornamental work inspired by Italian Baroque sacred art: sacred hearts, beaded friezes, crosses, and stylised motifs cover the entire silhouette with great finesse of relief. Made from a material typical of the Volterra workshops — a composite of alabaster and marble powder — the sculpture rests on an elegant veined black marble base that enhances its architectural and sculptural character. The glossy ivory finish and very elongated proportions give this piece a strong decorative presence despite its compact size. It fits well in both minimalist and maximalist interiors, contemporary monastic settings, wabi-sabi, or curiosity cabinets. The signature G. Ruggeri is visible in the material, along with a monogrammed disc on the back. Condition: Very good overall vintage condition. No chips or breaks. There is a discreet mark of about 8 mm on the back visible in the photographs. Very slight patina of time. Dimensions: • height: 29 cm. • base: 12 cm. • weight: approximately 1.25 kg. Origin: Italy. Period: 1970s-1980s. Materials: composite alabaster, marble powder, resin, and black marble.
