Vintage 50s solid elm wood lamp base

Solid wood lamp base, vintage 50s. The wood is elm, a species which offers beautiful dark veins. The lamp base is heavy. The French electrification is old but it is not the original one, it is older than the lamp base and seems a little damaged and no longer up to standard. It could be replaced by a more recent one (certainly a bit tedious change, it seems to us). The lamp accommodates a bayonet socket bulb. The wood part has small scratches, see photos, they could be hidden by applying wood oil. The lamp works. Height with socket: 21 cm. Diameter: 16 cm. Weight: 1,675g.
