Flat sheet with compartments

This pretty, rounded, three-compartment dish, in the shape of a leaf, was carved from Corsican olive wood (according to the previous owner) and has beautiful grain. It is ideal for presenting a few appetizers at aperitif time, but it can also be used as a very decorative tray, or to hold paper clips and small accessories on a desk. It is about fifty years old and shows no signs of wear! I cleaned it by sanding it with very fine-grained paper and I applied a little paraffin oil (inert, sold in pharmacies) to protect it from possible water sprays and give it a beautiful shine. It is in very good condition, no defects to report. It measures 29 cm in length, 20.5 cm in width and 4 cm in height. It weighs just under 400 g.
