Louis Philippe style bedside table - Wood and gray marble - 19th century
This elegant antique bedside table stands out with its classic lines, delicate moldings, and warm tones. It is topped with a gray marble surface veined with white, whose natural shades contrast harmoniously with the brown patina of the wood. The front features a molded frame upper drawer, adorned with a circular brass knob, as well as a door with a central panel framed by moldings. Behind it, a storage space with a shelf offers appreciated functionality. The straight uprights, discreet moldings, and protruding baseboard highlight the understated elegance of this small character piece. A complete and meticulous restoration. This piece has undergone artisanal restoration work, both inside and out. • Careful sanding of all interior and exterior surfaces. • Preventive treatment of the wood against wood-eating insects. • Wax finish enhancing the natural shades of the wood. • Additional protection with linseed oil. • Cleaning of the marble top to highlight its natural veining. The furniture thus presents a neat finish while retaining the charm of its original furniture. However, it does show some defects due to its age. Dimensions: Height 74 × width 42 × depth 34 cm. An antique piece for a contemporary interior.
