Pair of monumental Bruno Gambone ceramic bottles, 1970s, 60 and 48 cm. Iconic striped decoration, signed. Professionally restored, excellent condition. A pair of monumental bottle-form vases by Bruno Gambone, carrying one of the ceramist's most beloved decorative motifs: a banded sequence in burgundy, cream and deep black, set against the warm tone of unglazed stoneware. The elongated necks taper to a fine point, a signature of Gambone's vessel work that turns a functional form into something closer to sculpture. Produced in the 1970s and signed on the underside of each base, the pair comes from a lakeside Como residence furnished during that same decade — a provenance consistent with the period character of the pieces. Both bottles had broken necks; a professional restorer removed earlier amateur repairs and rebuilt the breaks to the highest standard. A slight finish variation remains visible at close inspection at the repaired points, reflected in the price, but the structural and aesthetic condition is now excellent. At 60 and 48 cm, the scale of these bottles is genuinely museum-grade — a rare find for this form.
