Antique neo-baroque jardinière in walnut, Switzerland 1800s

Cache-pot Black Forest from the late 19th century. Made of richly carved walnut. The four legs, like the supporting trunk, are sculpted in the form of twisted branches entwined with ivy, resting on two feet with two carved dogs. The branches rise along the trunk, decorating all sides of a trough resting on the trunk. On the front, there is a complex sculptural iconography celebrating the hunt, all executed in refined sculpture. On the top, an eagle grasps a serpent in its beak, and in the centre, a hunting scene featuring a hunting dog being overturned by the fleeing prey, below which we find a display with a bow and quiver. A zinc basin protects the sculpture from the moisture of the flowers. Minor losses.
