Very beautiful modern lithograph, aquatint, colored in bistre, after a watercolor by david roberts (1796-1864). It was originally engraved by louis haghe (1806-1885) and edited, published by fg moon and son in london. David, roberts, painter, watercolorist, well known for his representations of life in the middle east, with village scenes and monuments. Of his travel watercolors, 248. Lithographs grouped in six volumes, describe egypt, the nubi, the holy land, syria, arabia, and were produced at the time on pierre by the famous topographer, louis haghe and his team for seven years. Here is depicted a group of people sitting on the banks of the jordan, with writing on the right. David roberts, r. A and on the left banks of the jordan april 2 nd 1839. A very pretty mat enhances the lithograph as well as a pretty burgundy, glazed frame. Condition: very good condition, ready to hang, to decorate your interior with charm. Size: h 36 cm w 46 cm.
