Sculptural coffee table from the 70s, burl wood base and black lacquered bird, beveled glass top 9.5 mm. Description: A character piece: tiered base veneered with burl (highly contrasted swirling grain), topped with a glossy black lacquered bird in flight that supports the large removable transparent glass top. A sculptural composition typical of French decorative design from the 1970s-80s — the cantilever effect is spectacular in situ. Complete dimensions: Base 70 × 36.5 × H 40 cm; glass top 113 × 74.8 cm × 9.5 mm, beveled on 3 sides (beveled thickness: 7 mm); total footprint 118.6 × 74.8 cm. Height of the top in place: 38 cm. Glass intact, some signs of use. Full transparency on the condition: Former break in the wood at the point where the top rests (area where the glass sits), glued a long time ago, solid and stable — detailed photos provided; Burl naturally lightened by the sun in various areas (visible white marks in photos); Some signs of use on the wood; No stamp under the base.
