Handcrafted ceramic ashtray from the Basque Country of Béarn, 1970s

Elegant ceramic ashtray with a pretty shape and a beautiful flamed glaze, predominantly red and caramel, typical of the 70s. It is a beautiful artisanal work of modeling and glaze. It is not signed but has a precious indication underneath: it was created for a special occasion: the national congress of an association of deportees and resistance fighters interned during the Second World War, it is dated 1971. And what's more, as this meeting took place in the Basque country, it's a safe bet that it was created by a local ceramist. It is in perfect condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip. It measures 11 cm in diameter and 3 cm in height.
