Nicole clarence is a famous french resistance fighter and journalist. She worked for several years before being arrested and deported. On her return from the camps, she became a journalist for the magazine elle, madame figaro and for the magnum agency. Some time later, she left journalism to devote herself to her passion, painting. The work is a very nice portrait representing a woman in profile. The pose of the model recalls the features of the "portrait of the journalist sylvia von harden" made by otto dix in 1926.
