Very beautiful and unique large vintage table lamp from the 1960s/70s, remarkable for its combination of materials and very graphic proportions. The base, particularly sculptural, alternates between two volumes of woven plant fibres and a significant central sphere in olive green glazed ceramic. A second ceramic part appears at the top of the base. This play of volumes, materials, and colours gives it a very Mid-Century/Mediterranean modernist aesthetic. It has especially retained its original large cylindrical shade, in a superb burnt orange/terracotta tone, highlighted with a cream trim. Its colour naturally presents different shades depending on the lighting and the angle from which it is viewed, ranging from a fairly bright terracotta orange to a deeper, muted tone. The combination of olive green, burnt orange, and the honey hue of the natural fibres is particularly successful. Once lit, the lamp diffuses a soft and very warm light. The old electrical equipment includes a switch marked "Made in Italy" as well as an old label "Order n°16883". These elements are consistent with an Italian origin, although they do not allow for certain attribution to a specific manufacturer. Overall vintage condition is good. Some signs of age are present, reflecting its history. The original shade notably has a few discreet small marks, visible in the photographs. The weaving is beautifully patinated. Dimensions: L34 × D34 × H62 cm. Base only: H35 cm. Base: Ø14 cm. An uncommon vintage lamp, decorative both when off and on, whose silhouette works wonderfully in a 70s Italian interior, Mediterranean modernist, contemporary Haussmannian, or in a collector's decor. Period: circa 1960–1970. Original shade.
