Pair of old towels linen

the battens are close, the canvas splendid, heavy and cold, irregular, soft and flexible, white of clay down. quite extravagant length, longer than most of the old cloths. Hemmed hand - noted with interest the flange to grip attached to small points, slightly different for each of the towels. It is these details that we love - and more of the great beauty of these humble objects. These two here have never been used. Perfect and imperfect. length 95cm width 56cm
