After his studies in Munich and Berlin, Walter Gropius joined the office of architect Peter Behrens, where he worked alongside a number of architects including Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, and Dietrich Marcks. Gropius established his own practice for architecture and industrial design in 1910 and became one a founding member of the Bauhaus. One of his designs from that period is this F51 chair. An armchair Gropius designed for the directorâ??s room at the Bauhaus school in Weimar, 1920. This pair of chairs where produced by Tecta and come in a black wooden frame with a leather upholstery. A timeless and decorative design.
