Oil painting landscape signed 40cm x 55cm

The painting depicts a winter landscape in a figurative style, likely an oil on canvas, showing a chain of snow-covered mountains, frosted fir trees in the foreground, and skiers below. * Subject: High mountain landscape in winter with fir trees and silhouettes of skiers. * Apparent technique: Oil painting on canvas mounted on a frame. * Artistic context: This type of figurative alpine scene fits within the tradition of mountain painters from the mid or early half of the 20th century. The signature YG Madec most likely corresponds to the Breton painter Jean-Yves Madec, born in 1933 in Plougastel-Daoulas and died in 2007. Who was Jean-Yves Madec. * His training: He studied at the Fine Arts School in Rennes. * His career: He worked as a visual arts teacher in Landerneau, then in Brest (notably at the Quatre-Moulins College and the Iroise High School) until his retirement in 1993. Specificity of the subject: The most sought-after subjects of this artist remain his Breton maritime scenes (ports, ships, coasts of Finistère) and his travel sketchbooks from the East. A high mountain landscape and winter sports scene like this one is rarer in his work, making it an original and interesting piece.
