Large oval bonbonnière/dragee dish in molded crystal with diamond and pearl decoration, circa 1900

This magnificent oval box is made of molded crystal. It comes from a French manufacturer, such as Portieux-Vallerysthal or Baccarat – similar molded crystal models can be found in old 19th-century catalogs. It is an elegant and imposing sweet dish or bonbonnière: this mounted and covered bowl is oval in shape. It is decorated with diamond motifs and a beaded border. This compote dish is unsigned and dates from the late 19th century. It measures 29 cm high by 27 cm x 18 cm. In good overall condition, it shows some scratches from use and small chips on the rim. I also note some firing cracks along the rounded edge.
