Pierre cardin, “cage” dining table, chrome and gilded steel. france, circa 1970.

This sculptural table was designed and manufactured by pierre cardin in the 1970s. It consists of a chrome and gold metal base supporting a round smoked glass top. The base is articulated, allowing the user to place it in a square shape (as in the photos) or a diamond shape (more suitable if the table is used as a console, with a different glass top). Patina of use on the base and small scratches of use on the glass, good general condition. France, c.1970.
