Swedish chrome serving dish 1960s

The organic shape and highly reflective finish give this Swedish serving dish an almost sculptural character. The dish consists of four smoothly shaped compartments that meet in the centre around a small black knob. This simple detail gives the design its typical mid-century look. The dish is made of chrome-plated metal and still bears the original sticker on the underside with 'Made in Sweden' and 'Metal Chromeplated'. The design most likely dates from the 1960s, a period when even everyday objects in Scandinavian design received much attention for form and material. Beautiful as a fruit bowl or for nuts and small snacks, but actually just as strong as a standalone object on a table, sideboard or kitchen counter.
