Add a striking touch of mid-century modern design to your table with this vintage ceramic oil and vinegar cruet set (huilier-vinaigrier), dating from the 1960s/1970s. Heavily inspired by the iconic French art pottery style of Vallauris, this sculptural piece functions as a clever dual-chamber flask. While it appears as a singular intertwined form, the interior is divided into two separate chambers, allowing you to dispense oil from one spout and vinegar from the other. The piece features a highly tactile, textured "Fat Lava" (écume de mer) white and black glaze. This textured body is beautifully contrasted by abstract geometric blocks hand-painted in vibrant orange and red tones with graphic black outlines. It comes complete with its two original matching orange-topped ceramic cork stoppers. Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. The ceramic spouts and main body are structurally sound with no chips or cracks. There is slight, authentic vintage wear to the glaze on top of one of the orange stoppers, which is completely consistent with its age and adds to its genuine mid-century character.
