A true gem for lovers of Art Deco and Murano! Rare and stunning double wall sconce with two lights dating from the 1950s, combining a black wrought iron structure with a floral decoration of roses and two magnificent clusters of deep purple Murano glass (various shades of amethyst). The sconce is adorned with two lampshades shaped like grape clusters, made from hand-blown artisanal glass. The slight irregularities and bubbles are a testament to traditional Italian craftsmanship, typical of Murano work. The amethyst hue is particularly elegant and sought after, providing a warm and decorative light when lit (the photos of the sconce when lit do not accurately represent the colour, which is truly a deep nuanced purple). There are some signs of oxidation (rust) on the iron parts (inside the roses). Two glass beads are cracked, but this is very discreet and does not affect the aesthetic of the sconce; moreover, they can be placed against the wall. Weight 2.675kg.
