Francis Sachy is a French painter born in Roye, in the Somme, in 1953. A Picard artist, he set up his studio in Saint-Sauveur, near Amiens. His first gallery exhibition dates back to 1978, at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Amiens. He has since exhibited notably in Paris, Alençon, Saint-Quentin, and Deauville. His painting is figurative, in a post-impressionist or regional impressionist vein, with a preference for the landscapes of Picardy, the Bay of Somme, undergrowth, views of Amiens, and landscapes encountered during travels. He has also painted bouquets, portraits, and several landscapes from Morocco or other regions. His public exhibitions seem to have stopped in 2017. The work represents the famous Château de Trécesson, located in Campénéac in Morbihan, on the edge of the Brocéliande forest. The red schist castle reflects in the moats, surrounded by large trees. The painting features a beautiful texture, with visible impasto and particularly successful work on the architecture, foliage, and reflections in the water. Oil on wood panel. Signed Sachy at the bottom right. Titled and dated on the back: "Château de Trécesson – Morbihan – 2005" Artist's stamp on the back. Dimensions: approximately 33 × 41 cm.
