Rare danish table lamp palshus by per linnemann schmidt - denmark 1960s. Palshus produced work that used chamotte techniques. This format is considered in denmark as the jewel in the crown. The lampshade and the electrical system are new. Palshus pottery was founded by per linnemann-schmidt and annelise linnemann-schmidt in 1947 in the town of sengløse just west of copenhagen, denmark. The name of the studio is an acronym for p(er), (a)nnelise (l)innemann, (s)chmidt and hus (house). Early studio pieces were precise and minimalist in nature, with beautifully silky and matte enamels - mostly in subtle tones of brown, blue, green or cream. At palshus, the 1960s saw a change in style with the use of chamotte (textured clay) as well as printed/sgrafitto patterns, used in conjunction with more coarsely textured glossy enamels. The pottery closed in 1972. Foot dimension: diameter 19cm - height 37 cm.
