Mid-Century Modern "Break of Day" Swedish Abstract Landscape Oil Painting, Framed

A dramatic atmospheric mid century modernist landscape, painted in oil onto canvas. In this semi-abstract composition that captures the beauty of nature, we can discern what appears to be a hilly landscape, as daybreak sets in. Darker moody shades that have been used to depict the landscape contrast starkly against lighter shades of the sky – adding a dramatic effect to the painting. Expressive, painterly and unrestrained brushstrokes fill the canvas, as the artist has wonderfully layered and mixed the respective colours to add a textural quality as well as demonstrate depth in the painting. This oil on canvas is housed in a unique gilt frame with an inner gilt and maroon velvet-lined window. The colours of frame pick up colours of the painting, and further enhances it overall.
