Set of 4 S24 chairs by Pierre Chapo – Solid elm and black leather – 1970

Set of four S24 chairs, designed by Pierre Chapo in 1967, combining a solid elm structure with a black leather seat. Particularly representative of Pierre Chapo's work, the S24 model features a deliberately readable construction where the joints fully contribute to the design. The slightly inclined backrest posts, rectangular-section legs, and visible metal screws give the whole a sober and immediately recognisable architecture. The elm showcases a beautiful grain and a warm hue acquired over time. The stretched black leather seats provide a marked contrast with the wood and maintain a patina of use consistent with the age of the chairs. Overall vintage condition is good. The structures show a patina, with small marks, scuffs, and signs of use corresponding to their age. The leather also shows signs of use, including some scuffs and visible wear on the edges.
