Important ceramic planter from Gien, Peonies model, 1980.

Important ceramic planter from Gien. Model Peonies. Circa 1980. Originally created in 1875, the "Peonies" design is directly inspired by traditional floral motifs from the Far East (very fashionable in Europe at the end of the 19th century with the wave of Japonisme). It features large, richly coloured peonies in yellow, red, and cobalt blue, connected by dark leafy branches. It quickly became the most famous, best-selling, and most representative signature design of the brand's craftsmanship. With scalloped edges, resting on 4 scroll feet. Height: 18cm. Length: 44cm. Width: 21.5cm. Very good condition.
