Collection Trio "Rouges de Vallauris" – Marius GIUGE – Design 1960

Rare set of 3 art ceramics from the 1960s, emblematic of the French "Fat Lava" style. This trio stands out for its spectacular material work, where the glaze literally protrudes from the piece. MATERIAL & HANDWORK: Base: Genuine red clay from Vallauris (visible under the bases). Relief texture: This is not a smooth decoration. The white and black patterns have a thick, grainy texture (bubbling glaze). To the touch, one can feel the relief and the artist's manual work. Colours: Deep "Ox Blood" red with projections of reactive white and black glazes. DESCRIPTION OF THE PIECES: Large Gourd Vase: H 21 cm|W 15 cm. Signed E. VAL. Powerful "foam" decoration. Small Gourd: H 10.5 cm. Marked GM (Giuge Marius). Relief "cellular" decoration. Small Pot: H 8 cm. Marked Marius GIUGE + shape numbers (4 and 20). Brown glazed interior. CONDITION: Magnificent vintage condition. The colours remain vibrant and the reliefs intact. An ideal collector's piece for a Design or Mid-Century interior.
