Art Deco round wooden side table, France 1920s

A refined and sculptural Art Deco side table from France, dating to the 1920s. This elegant piece showcases the geometric harmony and craftsmanship that defined early French Art Deco, balancing decorative sophistication with architectural clarity. The round top sits on a tapered central column composed of alternating light and dark wood panels, creating a striking visual rhythm characteristic of the period’s fascination with contrast and symmetry. The base, supported by four gracefully curved legs, adds stability while enhancing the table’s sculptural presence. Its proportions are compact yet expressive, making it an ideal accent piece for displaying objects, floral arrangements, or standing alone as a decorative element. Crafted during a moment when French ateliers were pioneering modern design, this table reflects the transition from late‑19th‑century ornamentation to the clean, stylized forms of the interwar years. Its warm patina and carefully executed joinery speak to the quality of its original workmanship.
