Pair of 1950s Italian Walnut Nightstands with Green Inserts and Glass

An exceptional pair of Mid-Century Modern Italian nightstands or side tables, crafted in Italy during the 1950s. This elegant set beautifully exemplifies the sophisticated craftsmanship and dynamic silhouettes characteristic of mid-century Italian design. The cabinets feature exquisite Italian walnut veneers, beautifully arranged in a striking book-matched chevron pattern across the double cabinet doors. The rich grain and warm, deep tones of the walnut wood provide a stunning visual texture. Each nightstand is thoughtfully designed with two tiers of storage, including an open upper shelf and a lower cabinet compartment. Both levels are topped with protective, clear inset glass panels. The main surface underneath the glass features a distinctive green lacquered insert that creates a refined, colorful contrast against the warm walnut wood. The pieces are raised on elegant, tapered dynamic legs, each capped with solid brass sabots. The cabinet doors open smoothly via elegant, sculptural brass pull handles, opening to reveal a practical storage interior.
