Very beautiful round extendable dining table by the famous Swiss designer Emile Baumann, made in France around 1970 (label NF212 of the model under the top, see last photo). The model features a fixed central leg in stained mahogany, star-shaped, supporting a very nice top in elm and stained elm veneer with a wide band and rounded edges. It opens to reveal an extension. This extension is a rarity for this model as it opens in two parts by sliding (usually in a butterfly style), allowing it to offer a band identical to that of the top, maintaining the table's aesthetics when extended. The dimensions of the table are 114 cm in diameter when closed (for 4 guests) and 167x114 cm when extended (for 6 to 8 guests), height 73 cm. In very good used condition, however, there are some micro-scratches on the top, hidden by the wood grain, as well as some dulling of the varnish on the base, all without affecting the overall aesthetics. A very high-quality table in line with the minimalist and understated trends of current decor. Not to be missed!!!
