Modernist Column Library EFA – Georges Frydman – 1960s-70s

Authentic modernist library column from the 1960s/70s, designed by the famous French designer Georges Frydman (winner of the René Gabriel prize in 1966) for his publishing company EFA. This iconic piece of Mid-Century French design is distinguished by its airy, graphic lines and great functionality. Model features: * Structure & Base: Steel/aluminium uprights. Authenticity is guaranteed by the presence of the original "EFA" stamp on both metal bases. * Front: Removable sliding doors in mahogany sapelli veneer with beautiful vertical grain and warm, golden reflections, or black lacquered on the upper part. * Central section: Niche with sliding glass doors serving as a display case or exhibition space. * Accessories: 3 removable black half-shelves for showcasing and storing objects/books. * Shelves and side uprights: in mahogany sapelli veneer. * Backs: Contrasting white back panels (levels of solid panels) and mahogany sapelli veneered wood (level of the glass niche). Condition: The piece is offered in its original state and in beautiful condition. It is perfectly sound, robust, and complete. * The sliding doors function properly. * The original glass is intact and without chips. * Note: a few slight minor paint losses on the upper black lacquered panels as well as some usage scratches on the wood veneer (visible in the photos), which testify to its history and authenticity without detracting from the aesthetic charm of the piece. A rare centrepiece in this compact single-body column configuration. * Modular and dismountable furniture: The EFA design system allows for the separation of the boxes from the metal structure. * Stored on the ground floor (no steps to climb), with parking possible right in front for direct loading into your vehicle.
