Set of 7 bird engravings

Set of ornithological engravings enhanced with gouache. Five of the eighteenth century by martinet. François-nicolas martinet (1731-1800?) was a french engineer and engraver. He engraved many works of natural history, especially in ornithology. He worked in particular on the ornithology of mathurin jacques brisson (1760). Two others of the nineteenth century l one publication arthus bertrand the other follian printer. Martinet's engravings are in perfect condition the other two have some spots. Superb frame marie louise blue border and golden frame features yellow wash (for the 5 of martinet) The whole has a very nice decorative effect.
