Ancient Shirvan carpet

Small Oriental rug from the semi-antique period (mid-20th century, circa 1950-1960), originating from the famous region of Shirvan (East Caucasus / Azerbaijan). Entirely handmade, it features stunning geometric and tribal patterns typical of Caucasian craftsmanship, on a bright ivory background with brick red and midnight blue borders. Its shorn wool and very dense, tight knotting make it a piece that is both fine, robust, and elegant. It shows signs of age and use (wear in places: see photos), but its pattern is perfectly legible and its colors vibrant; ideal for collectors for wall decoration or for use in a hallway, a bedside area...
