Vintage Complete School Box with Twelve Rubber Stamps About the Months of the Year.

It is made in portugal by agatha - fábrica de material didáctico. A company that used to produce school material in the 1950's. This box is complete with 12 (twelve) rubber and wooden stamps illustrating all the months of the year, from january to december. Each stamp illustrates a specific month of the year. These stamps have a pedagogical stamp because they are school stamps, they are another learning tool. January has represented a winter environment with two children on the street with school bags on their backs. February is represented by carnival. March is represented with an image of nature awakening, it's spring. April is represented with a nature figure and the religious easter, a group of people making the easter visit (very popular in portugal). May is represented by children playing in the garden. June is represented by young people and children at the popular festivals. July we have the end of classes and therefore the final grading of the school year. August is represented by the beach symbolizing the holidays. September we have a scene of fruit and vegetables, harvest time. October again a school scene symbolizing the return to school. November is represented by the chestnut seller and the religious symbol of the 1st of november. Finally december is represented with christmas. With social, cultural and religious references the months of the year allow us to understand various aspects of life. Do not forget that each stamp is subtitled with the name of the corresponding month, but in portuguese. I think the photographs illustrate well the state of preservation of this stamp box, so it is essential to see the photographs in their entirety. For me, this box and these stamps are in good vintage condition. As you can see the stamps have been used, although they seem little used to me. The wood and rubber are still very clear, with little old paint and little staining. Despite the wear and use, the rubber stamps are intact, have no defects.
