This magnificent glass cup designed by the daum brothers around the 1920s, was engraved with acid and signed by hand. One hundred years later, it remains in excellent conditions, without real signs of aging, lack or crack, and is ideal to be used as a living room lamp with a small light inside. This magnificent vase represents a lake landscape facing a resplendent sunset. The colors used by the artist are mostly orange and black, with some more yellowish tones at the level of the sun. The daum crystal factory was founded in 1878 in nancy by jean daum. Originally, the workshops were not really successful, and, at his death in 1885, jean daum entrusted the keys of his business to his eldest son auguste. The latter could not turn the bar straight, and was supported in 1887 by his younger brother, antonin, who had just graduated from the école centrale des arts et manufactures in paris. Together, the daum brothers managed to promote the manufacture created by their father, and over the decades it became a french reference on a global scale. The daum crystal factory belonged until 1985 to the heirs of the daum, but since then it has been bought by other investors, and has belonged in particular to crédit agricole. The fact remains that his work remains substantial and the pieces are still as sought after, some having sold several hundred thousand euros!.
