Exceptional pair of column floor lamps by Michel Boyer, published by Verre Lumière, France in 1978. Their monolithic structures in black lacquer consist of a prismatic shaft with strict lines, topped with a nickel-plated metal bowl that diffuses indirect light. An integrated circular dimmer on the back adds a discreet functional detail to the rigorous design. This model perfectly illustrates Michel Boyer's work, where pure geometry and formal sobriety are part of a quest for purity characteristic of French design in the 1970s.
