This oil on canvas was made by william clochard, it is a work of the twentieth century, probably of the 30s or 40s. William clochard, whose real name is horace marcel clochard, born may 1, 1894 in bordeaux and died october 13, 1990 in nogent-le-roi, is a french painter. A self-taught painter, he maintained a long friendship with vlaminck, where he met, at the maison de la jonchère in rueil-malmaison, the painters pablo picasso, moise kisling and the writer gustave coquiot. Clochard debuted at the salon des indépendants in 1926, and fell out the same year with vlaminck, to whom critics compared him unfavourably. It was revealed to the public of chartres with the exhibition of the provinces of france in 1942. This still life represents a bouquet of flowers, roses, poppies, daisies in a vase on a blue and green background, the colors have remained fresh. We report cracks of friction, stains (visible in photos). Note also lack of material especially on the right side, on the green background. However, the work remains in a suitable state.
