Chinese tray in mother-of-pearl and soapstone

Chinese soapstone screen depicting dragons and a peacock. The screen has seven medallions, each with a mother-of-pearl scene. Some represent fruits such as peaches (symbol of longevity and immortality) or pomegranates (symbol of fertility). The central medallion depicts two humans on a winged animal. The screen is signed on the back. It has feet that allow it to be affixed.
