Marcel Breuer B35 Lounge Chair for Thonet 1928/1990s

Modernist lounge chair, model B35, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928 at the Bauhaus. This chair is manufactured by Thonet (marked with the label) in the 1990s. Following the succes of the 'Wassily' chair Marcel Breuer continued to experiment with tubular steel furniture. The B35 clearly conforms to the Bauhaus principles of design and construction, with its modern stripped-down form made from industrial materials not typically used in furniture at that time. The chair has a tubular chrome plated steel frame, a woven reattan seating and black lacquered solid beech wooden armrests. This version with the rattan seating is not in production anymore. The chair is in excellent condition. Only minimal traces of use, no damages.
