Louis XVI period armchair, Indian fabric no. 1

Louis XVI period armchair featuring a rectangular backrest made of moulded grey wood, covered in Indian fabric in shades of pink, blue, white, and ochre, decorated with a finish of aged bronze upholstery nails. It has two "whip" style armrests, each with a cuff, a square and curved seat that matches the fabric and finish of the backrest, and is supported by four tapered and fluted legs. Solid and stable, the structure of this armchair is in generally good condition and has been thoroughly cleaned. There are signs of wear such as scratches, paint loss, and minor accidents in the wood that give it an authentic patina. The fabric is sun-bleached and shows damage such as tears and signs of wear.
