Gold moulded wooden shuttle-shaped mirror, dimensions 95 cm x 43 cm. The original bevelled glass shows some slight marks due to its age. The two points of the frame are adorned with gilded sculptures representing roses, foliage, and berries on a black background, creating an elegant contrast characteristic of the taste of the period. On the back, an old label from the house of Dannwolf Successeur, a Strasbourg establishment specialising in mirror-making, gilding, and framing. This documented provenance is a valuable historical asset. Slight wear to the gilding, consistent with the age of the piece. Unusual and decorative shape, rare on the market.
