Oil on panel - signed lower right and titled Villa Fabbricotti on the back 1950s Giuseppe Cavallini (Livorno 1922-2000) Frame size: 70 X 55 cm, painting: 50 X 35 cm Giuseppe Cavallini was born in Livorno in 1916, where he lived and worked all his life. His artistic beginnings date back to the publication, in 1949, of some illustrations in "Il Martello", a magazine for the workers of the historic Luigi Orlando shipyard in Livorno, where Cavallini worked as a laborer until 1956, where he drew his first artistic inspiration and his first national recognition. Cavallini won countless awards, including the Modigliani Prize in 1956, the Seravezza Prize in 1959, the Città Marina Prize in Ravenna and the Golfo del Sole Prize in Follonica in 1963, the Casale di Monferrato Prize in 1965, the "Paesaggio del Garda" Prize in 1966, and many others. He participated, by invitation, in the Suzzara Prize. He exhibited, again by invitation, at the International Gallery of Fine Arts Museums, the Galerie Temple des Art in Vienna (Lyon), and the International Gallery in New York. Many critics, initially associated with socialist realism and later with figurative painting in general, wrote about him with sincere appreciation: Guttuso, Treccani, Carrà, De Grada, Trombadori, Loffredo, Giovanni March, among others. He has served on qualified juries and his works are held in important private and public collections. In 1975, Cavallini received the title of Honorary Academician from the G. Marconi Universal Academy in Rome.
