Plia chair by Giancarlo Piretti

Plia chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti and produced by Anonima Castelli in 1969. It is an iconic model of 70s design, featuring a unique hinge system that ensures the simultaneous opening of the three elements of the chair; when folded, all elements are on the same plane. The structure is made of chrome-plated steel, with a slightly smoked transparent plexiglass seat and backrest. It is in good condition, but there are some signs of oxidation on the chrome, particularly on the legs and inside the backrest supports, as well as very light scratches on the plexiglass and the chrome of the hinges, which I have tried to show in the photos. The four foot pads are present, and the hinges function perfectly. The stamp is in the form of a label affixed under one leg.
