Brutalist Stool in Sculpted Wood with Leather Seat. Spanish Work. Glass.

The stool features a curved cradle seat, carved from solid wood with a scalloped edge sculpted with a chisel, pierced with two oval handles at the ends. The center of the seat is covered with stretched cowhide, secured by a row of round-headed nails. The base, composed of slanted legs entirely punctuated with carved hollows, is braced by a through bar joined with visible rustic assembly. This vocabulary—worked solid wood, visible nails, natural hide—links this seat to the Spanish brutalist production of the 1950s, inheriting the Iberian vernacular traditions that modern taste has revived. These pieces with a strong character now appeal to interiors that blend design and raw materials. Condition report: Good overall condition. Wood with a warm, nourished patina, well-preserved original hide. A small sculptural seat, perfect as an end-of-sofa piece, a bedside table, or as a characterful footrest.
